My Journey

I am a Kiwi artist with a quirky flair, blending my love for the New Zealand environment and its charismatic creatures, with a dash of nostalgia from my childhood.

My art business isn't just about making money; it's a platform for giving back to my community. My life's experiences have taught me the importance of helping others, caring, and providing support where needed.

My journey as an artist and entrepreneur is as quirky as my art. It all began after a life-altering event when I had a post-partum coronary artery dissection, resulting in a heart attack. My husband and I were told we couldn't have any more children, and this experience became a turning point in my life. Determined to soak up every minute with our only child, I began painting at night between feeds, to try to supplement the household income. At the time, this was a desperate attempt to prolong my time at home with our little Lani, never in my wildest dreams, did I imagine selling my art to wonderful people all over the world!

My journey is a testament to the transformative power of passion and determination. My artwork is a vibrant celebration of Aotearoa's beauty and culture, a quirky and original tribute that aims to make you chuckle, reminisce, and above all, appreciate the wonderful world around us.

I draw inspiration from my surroundings, but my childhood memories are the wellspring of my creativity. The '80s and '90s were my formative years, and they left an indelible mark on my art. Much of my work is heartfelt, mirroring my emotions at the time or representing causes I feel strongly about.

I am a wife, mum, and a proud Kiwi, and this is reflected in my art!

After all, "Kia mau ki te tokanga nui noho” There is no place like home.
